Jan Dhan Yojana Bank accounts opened under government scheme with zero balance named PMJDY deposits crosses 1 lakh crores.
Pradhan Mantri Jhan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) was launched in the year 2014. Right after Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi become PM for the first time.
It was aimed to provide universal access to banking facilities to the people in the country.
In it, bank accounts were opened do not require a minimum balance. Moreover, it has the facility of providing overdraft of Rs 10,000 after six months.
If someone deposit money which not compulsory will be benefited by interest.
Also, the bank will provide a RuPay debit card for the account.
It was the decision which seriously included people below the poverty line into the banking system. Which also made their little amount safe and secure.

Anyone can avail this scheme whose age comes under 65 and above 20 years. Services include bank account remittance, credit, insurance, and pensions.
Banks have so far opened 360 Million accounts under PMJDY. Guinness Book of World Records have also registered it by stating that
“The most bank accounts opened in one week as a part of the financial inclusion campaign is 18,096,130. And was achieved by the Government of India from August 23 to 29, 2014”
Now as per the latest finance ministry data, the total balance Jan Dhan Yojana is Rs 1,00,495.94 as on July 3rd.
